4A Biliary Stents - Double Pigtail

SKU: 4A-GE-0005

The Double Pigtail Biliary Stent is engineered with coiled curl loops at both its proximal and distal ends to provide maximum anchor stability within the biliary tree and duodenum. By securing one pigtail in the bile duct and the other within the duodenal lumen, this stent virtually eliminates both upward (proximal) and downward (distal) migration risks. It is widely utilized for benign strictures, pancreatic pseudocyst drainage, and long-term palliation where stent displacement poses a high clinical risk.

Key Benefits

  • Dual-End Migration Protection: Coiled loops at both ends securely lock the stent between the bile duct and duodenal cavity.
  • Reduced Tissue Perforation Risk: Smooth, rounded pigtail ends eliminate sharp edges, protecting intestinal walls from focal mucosal trauma.
  • Multi-Point Side Drainage: Continuous drainage ports inside both coils ensure persistent bile flow even if main lumen becomes partially sludged.
  • Ideal for Pseudocyst Drainage: Provides reliable transmural anchorage during endoscopic cyst-enterostomy procedures.
  • Kink-Resistant Body: Flexible construction adapts to sharp anatomical angles without lumen collapse.
